Randy Barnes
Pastor Randy Barnes was born in Dallas, Oregon. He received Christ as His Savior at the first church camp he ever attended at the age of 13. Pastor Randy graduated from Dallas High School and then off to college to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.
During his second year of college at George Fox Bible College, he met the woman who would eventually become his wife. Pastor Randy moved to the Richland, WA in the summer of 1980 so that he and Shelly could get married. That same year he began working as a Nuclear Process Operator. Pastor Randy and Shelly were married in November of 1980. In the spring of 1981, Pastor Randy and Shelly began attending Temple Baptist Church. They quickly began serving in the youth ministry as volunteers.
Pastor Randy began as a volunteer police officer and then was hired by the City of Richland as a full-time officer in 1982. He and Shelly continued to serve as leaders at Temple Baptist during his entire 28 year law enforcement career. Pastor Randy worked patrol, detectives, undercover narcotics, SWAT Team, and police training officer. At his retirement, Pastor Randy held the rank of Division Commander.
In 1996, Pastor Randy and Shelly felt a strong calling to surrender to full-time ministry whenever the Lord would have them. At that point Pastor Randy went back to college, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology. Upon his retirement from law enforcement in 2010, he was called to the pastorate at Temple Baptist. He now serves as Senior Pastor of the church.
Pastor Randy has a passion for God’s word and for people. His training and experience in ministry, law enforcement, and leadership serve as a solid foundation for his preaching, teaching, counseling, and mentoring.

Caleb Farmer
Pastor Caleb Farmer was born and raised in the small country town of Milledgeville, Illinois. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the age of four after hearing his dad preach a salvation message. At the age of 10, he surrendered his life to full-time Christian service during evangelistic meetings at his church. Growing up in a pastor’s home allowed him to be involved in many aspects of ministry from a young age.
Pastor Caleb attended college at Maranatha Baptist University in Watertown, WI. The Lord used his time in college to bring many new opportunities into his life, the greatest coming in the fall of 2012 when he met his future wife, Laura. They were married in the summer of 2015 following their graduations from MBU.
Pastor Caleb returned to Maranatha the following fall to pursue a Master’s degree in Biblical Counseling. During the two years that it took to complete this degree, he served as a Residence Supervisor in one of the men’s dorms on campus.
In February of 2017, Pastor Caleb received a call from Pastor Barnes about the opportunity of joining the ministry at Temple Baptist. After a survey trip in mid-March, Pastor Caleb and Laura returned at the end of May to officially candidate for the position of Assistant Pastor. Following that trip, Temple Baptist extended the call, and Pastor Caleb began his ministry on July 1st.
Pastor Caleb and Laura have been blessed with three daughters - Emma ('17), Sophie ('20), and Adalyn ('22).
Pastor Caleb loves preaching, teaching, counseling, and working with people of all ages. He also is active in the community as a Chaplain for local Fire and Police Departments, as well as a Team Member with the Columbia Basin Dive Rescue.
